Black Anima
This class is one of the most dynamic in terms of party adaptability. If you like quick combo attacks and high mobility to even support and summon play styles, you’ll be sure to find this class interesting. Regardless of such, because of the VP and RP system the class has, it is probably one of the more complicated classes and possibility limited as a result of its core design. Katana itself is quite limited in diverse playstyles but well versed in one, but requires great latency to use to full potential. Jade is actually one of the weakest classes due to the fact that the skills are slow, weak, and are mostly used for utility– but the buffs can make up in a large party, due to the fact that you can easily empower all other members constantly with powerful buffs.
Pros
Cons
▸ Very strong early game, the class excels at doing damage and grinding with minimal investment in comparison to others
▸ Two different play styles through Jade and Katana, but used through a single weapon so you won’t have to invest in a whole new weapon to try the other style of play.
▸ A smaller pool of skills in comparison to some other classes when played with a Katana, focuses on it’s combos for the majority of it’s damage meaning there’s less flexibility.
▸ No subclass.

Become a Black Anima by following the steps:
1. During character creation, choose Wanderer. This class has one of the more advantageous beginnings, due to having a naturally high attack power with sword combos. Through switching to Katana you will making leveling and killing mobs much easier for yourself.
2. At Lv. 50, advance to Shadow. Still strong in comparison to other classes as the Wanderer line gets most of it’s best skills early on. New combos and skills are available at this point.
3. At Lv. 100, advance to Mystic. You’ll continue to grow in strength as you advance to a Mystic, you should also start understanding which combos to use as the game gets slightly more difficult from here. You will need to figure out which combos work best and in which situation.
4. At Lv. 170, advance to Black Anima. You now have access to all your passives and skills, only being held back by levels and skill points. Using the right combination of combos for your Katana will allow you to shred through enemies, or you could switch to Jade for a more team oriented play style through buffs for your team.
2. The Basics
RP and VP
Understanding the RP and VP system is the first step to getting comfortable with the class. Unlike any other class, this class has a tight restriction on how much skills you can use. But the nature of that is due to the fact of both having powerful buffs and the best dash in the game.
RP stands for Restraint Points, which drains on dash, devotion, and lantern buffs.
VP stands for Vitality Points, which drains on skill usage.
In order to maximize the usage of the class, you must make sure that you keep both up as much as possible, through the trees the class has.
Shadow Sword
Another aspect is custom combos. After a recent change, the combos have been split into 2 distinct forms, attack and transformation combos ( orange and green respectively ). One that is blazingly fast, and hits hard and targets 8 mobs, and another that is slower, and hits 4 times per swing and targets only 5 mobs. With these aspects, they fall into their own combo slots for maximum synergy. Green combos in the green slots and orange combos in the orange slot. While this maximizes damage output for the swing type, experiment yourself for what combo you like the most.
Otherwise this class has standard structure, but with 2 distinct different play styles available. Shadow Sword skills primarily use VP.
Lantern
Lantern skills are remincient of class skills from most other classes. The posses relatively medium cooldown times and are expected to be used one after another. Like normal class skills, they scale off of all your stats. Lantern skills primarily use RP.

3. Skill Breakdown
Skills will be ranked by the 3-star system:
★☆☆: Mediocre
★★☆: Average
★★★: Excellent
Skills will be ranked by this 3-star system according to each playstyle:
PvE: Player vs Environment. This refers to battling AI-controlled enemies.
PvP: Player vs Player. This refers to battling other human-controlled enemies.
S: Support. This covers buffs and utility skills that help the whole party.
For example, “PvE: ★★★ / PvP: ★☆☆” means that the skill is excellent for battling AI-controlled monsters and mediocre for battling other players.

4. Skill Builds & Tips
Wanderer is definitely one of the classes the uses the most amount of skill points to barely support itself, whereas lantern build can never have enough points to become full on attack. Because of the lack of skill points to go around with latern builds, it is primarely used as a side build for either full support or a hybrid of support and attack. Most players chosoe a sword build for going 100% offensive, since it is ggenerally seen as more fun to play overall. However, it is highly suggested that you try both weapon types, and decide for yourself which is mroe fun for you to play!
5. Gearing
All classes use the same gear at the end, with the only difference being tsar and kaiser armor. Go for tsar for the fact that the class synergizes with attack, and has no static passives to support stacking static.
However, Kaiser set is still a viable option if the player chooses to go a multi-hit style build sword attacks. The multihit style has lower damage than burst style, so it benefits much heavier from stacking static damage than any other build. Also once Shadow Mark gets extra levels from using Lab Black Jace, the proc rate and scaled damage becomes absolutely amazing. It must be noted that this build strategy can only be properly executed late into end game.
Armor of Sun and Armor of Sand are comparable to Kaiser and Tsar sets. Sun armor is similar to Kaiser set, but more powerful, as Sand is to Tsar. The same overall set usage remains the same, dependant on what sort of build you run. In the end, what is key for the class, is using gear that stacks your attack range, which takes priority over static damage.
