Dungeons

Trieste is a massive world, filled with wonders, secrets, and other players just like you. Many of the greatest challenges and most lucrative rewards to be found in Dekaron are hidden deep within the dungeons that are scattered throughout the world.

Solo dungeons are designed to be run by a single player, whereas party dungeons are much more difficult and require multiple players, covering the standard party roles.

Instances

Unlike the larger world, which is shared with other players, dungeons are instanced content, meaning that a new and private version of the dungeon is generated each time an individual or group enters. Other players cannot enter a specific instance unless they are invited by someone who is already inside, and entering the same dungeon after completing its goal will create a new instance of that dungeon, repopulating it with creatures and treasure. If all player characters in a dungeon are killed, the dungeon will also reset.

Finding and Entering Dungeons

Dungeon entrances can be found on the in-game map, as though they were NPC’s. The name of the dungeon will be followed by (InDun), short for Instanced Dungeon. You can interact with these entrances as if they were NPC’s.

Most dungeons cannot be run indefinitely. Entry requires an entrance fee in DIL, or certain item, usually a ticket. Most dungeons offer one complementary ticket per day, but receiving a new ticket on the same day will usually have a cost. The cost of additional ticket escalates with each subsequent attempt, whether you leave by death or by completing the dungeon's goal. Each day at a specific time, the number of attempts for all dungeons resets for all players, and players can obtain a new complementary entrance ticket, and the cost for subsequent tickets resets.

A dungeon will inform you of the minimum requirements for entry. All dungeons have minimum level requirements, and some dungeons have a minimum party size needed as well. Some dungeons also have a maximum level and will not allow entry to characters who exceed this. Keep in mind that, just because a dungeon entrance is found in a specific area, this does not mean that the dungeon is of comparable difficulty to the creatures found in that area.

Dungeon Difficulty

Since dungeons are intended to be run multiple times, many of them have varying degrees of difficulty, suitable for varying levels of character power. Some dungeons might have multiple paths that lead to optional encounters, with additional rewards.

A few dungeons feature escalating difficulty, meaning that while players may be strong enough to challenge the creatures found near the entrance, stronger opponents are found deeper within. Defeating these inhabitants may be beyond the means of players who can handle earlier creatures, and they should come back once they are stronger.

Many dungeons have a Hard Mode, which is a new version of the dungeon with the same layout and monsters, but higher difficulty and better rewards. Hard Mode dungeons are considered separate from their regular counterparts, and can be run independently.

Infinite Battle dungeons are the most straightforward, and feature a continuous series of monsters for your player character or party to face. The goal is to survive as long as you can, and the rewards increase the longer you stay alive.

Keep an eye out for the upcoming Dungeon Guide, which will feature level ranges, locations, entry fees, and rewards for all the dungeons in Trieste.
